- Plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) is the principal inhibitor of urokinase plasminogen activator(uPA) and tissue plasminogen activator (tPA). It belongs to the group of serpins (serine protease inhibitors). Elevated levels of PAI-1 are associated with poor prognosis in many types of cancer. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Ultraviolet: Absorbance (280nm) = 4.86 ∈0.1% = 1.36 Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
