- The product of this gene belongs to the plakin or cytolinker family of genes. The encoded protein is involved in cytoskeleton-membrane attachment in epithelial cells, muscle, and other tissues. It also may regulate changes of lymphocyte cytoarchitecture during polarization and extravasation. This gene has alternative splicing of different 5' exons to the first constant exon, which generates transcript variants that encode distinct isoforms Applications: Suitable for use Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Rat brain tissue lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
