- Peroxiredoxin 5, also known as PRDX5, is a member of the peroxiredoxin family of antioxidant enzymes, which reduces hydrogen peroxide and alkyl hydroperoxides with reducing equivalents provided through the thioredoxin system. This protein may play an antioxidant protective role in different tissues under normal conditions and during inflammatory processes. It has been reported that peroxiredoxin 5 is involved in intracellular redox signaling. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa53-214 from human Peroxiredoxin 5, expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
