- CD279 is a 55kD cell surface protein which is a member of the CD28/CTLA-4 family, otherwise known as Programmed Death-1 (PD-1). CD279 is expressed predominantly on activated T- and B- lymphocytes and on a subset of thymocytes. Studies suggest that CD279, an immunoinhibitory receptor, plays a critical role in peripheral tolerance induction and prevention of autoimmune disease. Two members of the B7 family, B7-H1 (PD-L1) and B7-DC (PD-L2), have been identified as the ligands for CD279. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
