Extra Details:: Paxilline is a tremorgenic mycotoxin isolated from species of Penicillium, Acremonium and Emericella. Paxilline acts as a selective blocker of high-conductance Ca2+-activated potassium channels and has been shown to inhibit binding to the cerebellar inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (InsP(3)) receptor. Source: Paxilline from Penicillium paxilli. Molecular Weight: ~435.6 Solubility: Soluble in ethanol, methanol, DMF or DMSO. Very poor water solubility. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with DMSO. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
