- PBEF is a putative cytokine determined to be a nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT) enzyme and member of the NAPRTase family, involved in catalyzing the biosynthesis of NAD from nicotinamide. PBEF is highly expressed in bone marrow, muscle and liver tissue and increases in expression in response to endotoxin, in amniotic epithelial cells following lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation, and during the activation of T and B cells, dendritic cells and macrophages, suggesting a role in inflammatory processes. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:3000. Detects a band of ~56kD in 293T cell lysates. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: FO myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
