Extra Details:: Oxytocin causes contraction of the smooth muscle of the uterus and of the mammary gland. It belongs to the vasopressin/oxytocin family. Oxytocin is secreted. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1:2000. No staining is evident when the antibody is pre-absorbed with 0.5mg/ml of oxytocin. Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Sheep brain (hypothalamus). Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
