- Oncostatin M (OSM) is a member of the interleukin-6 family of cytokines. Of these cytokines, OSM is closely related structually, genetically and functionally to leukemia inhibitory factor. However, OSM-specific biological activities have been reported in hematopoiesis and liver development. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Neutralization. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.5ug/ml Detects human Oncostatin-M by direct ELISA (using 100ul/well antibody solution) allows the detection of 0.2-0.4ng/well of recombinant human Oncostatin-M. Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml Detects recombinant human Oncostatin-M at 1.5-3.0ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
