Extra Details:
NPDC-1 (Neural proliferation differentiation and control protein 1) is a 35kD member of the NPDC1/cab1 family of proteins. It is principally expressed in neurons, and serves as an anti-proliferation agent. It may accomplish this, in part, by binding to E2F-1 and blocking its protranscriptional activity. Mature human NPDC-1 is 291aa in length. It is a type I transmembrane protein that contains an NLS (aa107-124), an HLH domain (aa95-128), a transmembrane domain (aa182-202), and a PEST degradation sequence (aa269-302). Phosphorylation promotes ubiquitination at this latter site. There are two splice variants. One shows a deletion of aa242-263, while another shows a nine aa substitution for the nine aa in positions 218-226. Over aa35-181, human NPDC-1 shares 68% aa identity with mouse NPDC-1. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O, sterile 40-50% glycerol, 0.1% BSA, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
