- Extra Details:
- Nerve growth factor-b (b-NGF) is a potent neurotrophic factor which supports the growth and survivability of nerve and/or glial cells. The active form of human b-NGF is a dimer, formed by two identical 119 amino acid subunits, which is held together by strong hydrophobic interactions. Applications: Suitable for use in Direct ELISA, Western Blot and Neutralization. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Direct ELISA: ≥0.5ug/ml using 100ul/well. Detects 0.2-0.4ng/well of recombinant human NGFb. Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml. The detection limit for recombinant human NGFb is 1.5-3ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. Neutralization: 0.05-0.08ug/ml yields one-half maximal inhibition (ND50) of the biological activity of 1ng/ml human NGFb. Optimal dilution to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
