- Na+/H+ exchangers are composed of a hydrophilic carboxy terminal domain and a hydrophobic, membrane spanning amino terminal domain. Functional studies indicate that it is the amino terminal domain which is responsible for the transmembrane exchange of sodium and hydrogen ions and that this activity is regulated by the interaction of cytosolic proteins with the hydrophilic carboxy terminal region. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: Detects band of 80kD (rabbit) and ~83kD (rat). Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): Rat PLP or paraformaldehyde fixed tissue. Immunoprecipitation: Non-ionic detergent Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
