Extra Details:: Myostatin (GDF-8) is expressed uniquely in human skeletal muscle. It is secreted into plasma. Myostatin is a member of the transforming growth factor beta superfamily of secreted growth and differentiation factors. These factors are essential for proper regulation of skeletal muscle mass. Studies have shown that myostatin could play an important role in cardiac development and physiology. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
