- Extra Details:
- Myogenin, also called MYF4, is a 34kD, 224aa basic-HLH transcription factor member of the myogenic regulatory factor family. It induces fibroblastic differentiation to myoblasts and is expressed most highly early in the skeletal muscle differentiation process. Within the region used as an immunogen, human myogenin shares 93% and 91% aa identity with mouse and rat myogenin, respectively. Isoforms may exist that diverge at 155aa, 246aa or that are truncated at 215aa. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunocytochemistry: 8-25ug/ml in immersion-fixed differentiated C2C12 mouse myoblast cells. Flow Cytometry: 0.25ug/10e6 cells using C2C12 mouse myoblast cell line Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
