Extra Details:: Mucin 1, cell surface associated (MUC1) or polymorphic epithelial mucin (PEM) is a mucin, the protein part of which is encoded by the MUC1 gene in humans. Mucin proteins penetrate the membranes of epithelial cells, on the inner surface of the intestine and other organs. Mucin protects the body from infection by binding to pathogens. Overexpression of the mucin protein is often associated with colon and many other cancers. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: Can be used as a capture or detection antibody Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
