Extra Details:
Natural resistance to infection with unrelated intracellular parasite such as Mycobacteria, Salmonella, and Leishmania is controlled by a single gene that encodes a macrophage-specific membrane protein designated as Natural Resistance-Associated Macrophage Protein (Nramp1). Recently a second member of NRAMP family, termed NRAMP2/DMT/DCT1 (Divalent Metal ion Transporter 1 or Divalent Cation Transporter 1), has been identified (human, rat and mouse 568 aa, ~65% identity with NRAMP1). Unlike NRAMP1, NRAMP2 expression is more ubiquitous and has been detected in most tissues. It is dramatically up-regulated by iron starvation in the intestine. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml. Coat with 1ug/ml Control Peptide. Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml (ECL) Immunofluorescence: 5-10ug/ml using confocal microscopy. Immunohistochemistry: 5-20ug/ml. Use paraformaldehyde fixed tissues. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Recommended Control Peptide: M4695-50A: Metal Transporter Protein, Mouse, Control Peptide (MTP1) Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
