- Extra Details:
- Beta-2 microglobulin is a ubiquitous, 12kD, secreted, non-glycosylated protein required for cell surface expression and non-covalent assembly of MHC Class I molecules and CD1 cell surface glycoproteins. Mature rat b2-Microglobulin is a 99aa peptide containing one C1-type lg-like domain (aa 22-116). In human, b2-Microglobulin is known to dissociate from the MHC complex and circulate as full-length and N-terminal-truncated peptides of 93, 91 and 90 amino acids. Applications: Suitable for use in Direct ELISA, Western Blot and Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Direct ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/ml. The detection limit is ~1ng/well. Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml. The detection limit is ~1ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions. Flow Cytometry: 50ug/ml. 10ul labels 1-2.5x10e5 cells in a total reaction volume not exceeding 200ul. Tested on rat splenocytes. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
