Extra Details:: A subset of mitochondrial proteins are synthesized on the ribosomes within mitochondria (1). The 55S mammalian mitochondrial ribosomes are composed of a 28S small subunit and a 39S large subunit (1). Over 40 protein components have been identified from the large subunit of the human mitochondrial ribosome (1). Mitochondrial ribosomal protein L11 (MRPL11) is one such component (1). In animals, plants and fungi, this protein is translated from a gene in the nuclear genome (2). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000, incubate membrane with diluted antibody in TBS, 5% BSA, 0.1% Tween-20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight. Immunoprecipitation: 1:50 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
