- P-glycoprotein is encoded by the MDR1 (ABCB1) gene. It is a member of the ABC superfamily of ATP-binding cassette transporters. Expression of P-glycoprotein is associated with ATP-dependent transmembrane efflux of chemically diverse compounds from the cell. It is the major component of multidrug resistance in human tumors. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Though not tested, Immunohistochemistry (frozen sections), Immunocytochemistry, Flow Cytometry and ELISA reported in literature. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunohistochemistry (formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded): 1:20-1:40. Heat-induced antigen retrieval required. The antibody should be incubated for 60 minutes at RT. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
