- Lysozyme is an enzyme that is present in mucosal secretions such as saliva and tears and is involved with non-specific organism defense. It functions by hydrolyzing 1,2-beta linkages between N-acetylmuramic acid and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine residues such as those found in the walls of various Gram-positive bacteria. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Flow Cytometry, and Immunohistochemistry (paraffin). Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Flow Cytometry: 1:10, 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul, membrane permeabilization is required for this application Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control Tissue: Human Tonsil Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
