-20°C
Supplier:
United States Biological
Host:
Rabbit
Immunogen:
Recombinant protein corresponding to human leptin, expressed in E. coli.
Format:
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 0.2M phosphate buffer, pH 7.2, 0.1M sodium chloride. Reconstitute with 100ul sterile ddH2O and let the lyophilized pellet dissolve completely. If slight turbidity occurs after reconstitution, clarify the solution by centrifugation. This does not affect activity of the antibody.
Extra Details:
Leptin, the product of the ob (obese) gene, is a 16kD protein consisting of 146 amino acid residues. Leptin is produced in the adipose tissue, and is considered to play an important role in appetite control, fat metabolism and regulation of body weight. It targets the central nervous system, particularly hypothalamus, affecting food intake. Leptin levels are high in most obese individuals. Studies have shown that it may also influence reproductive function. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: > 1:200,000 (Use 1mg/ml human leptin to coat the plate) Immunohistochemistry: Paraffin sections with microwave technique Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Quality Control: Indirect ELISA–to determine titer of the antibody Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
