- Extra Details:
- Members of the Klebsiella genus typically express 2 types of antigens on their cell surface. The first, O antigen, is a component of the lipopolysaccharide (LPS), of which 9 varieties exist. The second is K antigen, a capsular polysaccharide with more than 80 varieties. Both contribute to pathogenicity and form the basis for serogrouping. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunofluorescence (IC): Detects Klebsiella oxytoca and other serotypes in fresh isolates, including those fixed by phenol, formalin or boiling. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
