- Interleukin 24 (IL-24)/melanoma differentiation-associated gene-7 (mda-7) encodes a secreted protein that exhibits significant homology to the interleukin 10 (IL-10) family of cytokines. The human IL-24 is secreted by activated peripheral blood mononuclear cells and binds two heterodimeric receptors, IL-22R1/IL-20R2 and IL-20R1/IL-20R2 resulting in the activation of JAK/STAT signaling pathways. Mda-7/IL-24, selectively induces growth suppression, apoptosis and radio sensitization in malignant gliomas in a p53-independent manner. The amino acid sequence used as immunogen is found in many of the IL-24 isoforms, including isoforms of 219, 207, 206, 154, 143 and 120 amino acids. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry 2-5ug/10e6 cells Western Blot 0.5-3ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
