- Extra Details:
- Interleukin 17 (cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated serine esterase 8) is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by activated T cells. This cytokine regulates the activities of NF-kappaB and mitogen-activated protein kinases. This cytokine can stimulate the expression of IL6 and cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX-2), as well as enhance the production of nitric oxide (NO). High levels of this cytokine are associated with several chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and multiple sclerosis. Interleukin-17 (IL-17) and its cognate receptor, IL- 17R, are examples of cytokine receptor pairs. IL-17 protein exhibits a striking degree of homology with the HSV13 protein which mimics its function. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Functional Assays. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA (sandwich): 0.5-2ug/ml, ussing 100ul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2ug/ml of this antibody is required. In conjunction with I8439-04R as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of recombinant hIL-17A. Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml, used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hIL-17A is 1.5- 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. Optimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher. Matched Pair: Detection: I8439-04R: Interleukin 17 (Biotin) Capture: I8439-07: Interleukin 17 Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
