- (Interleukin-15) is a 14kDa immunomodulatory glycoprotein expressed by multiple tissues and cell types, which primarily stimulates T lymphocytes, but is also critical for the development and activation of natural killer cells (NK). IL-15 shares functional properties with IL-2 and binds with high affinity to the IL-15 receptor (IL-15R), consisting of the IL-15R alpha chain, and also the IL-2Rbeta and common gamma chains used by the IL-2 receptor. Affects of IL-15 have been linked with cells and tissues unrelated to the immune system, and increased expression of IL-15 has been demonstrated in Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), ulcerative colitis (UC) Chron’s disease (CD) and lymphoid malignancies, and also conditions affiliated with HIV and HTLV-1 infection. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
