- Applications: ELISA Capture: Useful as a capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA for quantifying mouse or human IL-5 protein levels.5-7 Purified antibody should be paired with biotinylated antibody (Cat. No. I8427-10E) as the detection antibody, with purified recombinant mouse IL-5 as the standard. Immunofluorescence/Flow Cytometry: Useful for intracytoplasmic staining and flow cytometric analysis to identify and enumerate IL-5-positive cells within mixed cell populations.8 Recombinant mouse IL-5 or Rat IgG1 should be used as a specificity control. Western Blot: The purified antibody is also useful for Western blot applications. For Western blotting, a concentration of 1-5ug/ml (in conjunction with AP-labeled Goat Anti-Rat-Ig) has been found to enable detection of ≤ 100ng/lane of recombinant mouse IL-5 under reducing conditions. Neutralization:can be used for neutralizing mouse IL-5 bioactivity Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
