- IFN beta, initially described as fibroblast interferon, is produced predominantly by fibroblasts and some epithelial cells. Type 1 interferons are produced primarily in response to viral infections as part of the host immune response and can also inhibit the development of tumors. IFN-beta is involved in the regulation of non-specific humoral immune responses and responses against viral infections. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 4-10ug/ml detects a band of ~15kD in A20 cell lysates. Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 2.5ug/ml. Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining. Sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0 is recommended. Immunofluorescence: 20ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
