Integrins are a large family of transmembrane proteins composed of an alpha and beta component. Integrins are involved in a diversity of biological functions such as cell adhesion, structure, differentiation, apoptosis and cell proliferation. They are the principal cell surface receptors that recognise cell to matrix interactions but little is known about the expression of beta 1 integrin family on airway smooth muscle (ASM) and their involvement in proliferation. This is a contributing factor in structural changes seen in asthma. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Not suitable for use in Function Blocking or Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry & Immunocytochemistry: Acetone fixed. Nuclear background staining limits usefulness in these techniques. Otimal dilution to be determined by researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: APC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
