Extra Details:: Immunoglobulin M (IgM) is produced as a 900kD pentamer, which is an efficient complement binder. This antibody type is produced initially in the immune response and it is the first immunoglobulin class to be synthesized by a fetus or newborn. IgM antibodies do not cross the placenta. IgM concentration in blood is 0.12g/l and its biological survival (plasma T1/2) is 5 days. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Flow Cytometry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml Flow Cytometry: 1-4ug/ml, extracellular and intracellular staining. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
