- Extra Details:
- A gene, Humanin, encodes a short polypeptide and abolishes death of neuronal cells caused by multiple different types of familial Alzheimer's disease genes and by Abeta amyloid, without effect on death by Q79 or superoxide dismutase-1 mutants. This polypeptide serves as a molecular clue for the development of new therapeutics for Alzheimer's disease targeting neuroprotection. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
