- Extra Details:
- 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal (4-hydroxynonenal, HNE) is a highly reactive aldehyde generated by the exposure of polyunsaturated fatty acids to peroxides and reactive oxygen species (ROS). It non-enzymatically forms stable protein adducts with histidine, lysine, and cysteine side chains that have been used as biomarkers for oxidative damage in cells. Conditions where HNE immunoreactivity has been observed include include inflammation, neurodegenerative diseases, and ischemic damage to the heart and brain. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml detects HNE in 4-hydroxynonenal or peroxyynitrite-treated recombinant E. coli DNAK Immunohistochemistry: 0.1-25ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
