- Nucleosomes wrap and compact DNA into chromatin, limiting DNA accessibility to the cellular machineries which require DNA as a template. Histones thereby play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication and chromosomal stability. DNA accessibility is regulated via a complex set of post-translational modifications of histones, also called histone code, and nucleosome remodeling. Histone H1 is located in the nuclear and is necessary for the condensation of nucleosome chains into higher order structures. Histone H1 produces a speckled staining pattern in the nucleus of normal and malignant cells. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.5ug/ml detects Histone H1 and core proteins in10ug of Jurkat cell lysate. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Recommended Secondary Antibodies: I1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt x Mo I1904-06H: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt x Mo Positive Control: Jurkat cell lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
