- Hepatitis C Virus is a positive, single-stranded RNA virus in the Flaviviridae family. The genome is ~10,000 nucleotides and encodes a single polyprotein of about 3,000 amino acids. The polyprotein is processed by host cell and viral proteases into three major structural proteins and several non-structural protein necessary for viral replication. Several different genotypes of Hepatitis C Virus with slightly different genomic sequences have since been identified that correlate with differences in response to treatment with interferon alpha Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: ~10e6 Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:20 cryostat liver sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
