Extra Details:: The E antigen is also known as HBeAg or precore antigen. It is one of two HBV core proteins and is secreted into the serum of infected patients, usually early on in the infection. Positive testing for HBeAg usually indicates active replication of HBV and is associated with in increased risk of hepatocellular carcinoma. HBeAg also elicits T cell tolerance and regulates the immune response to the intracellular nucleocapsid of the virus. This HBeAg-mediated immune regulation may predispose to chronicity during perinatal infections and prevent severe liver injury during adult infections. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Recommended Pair: Capture: H1915-10J Detection: H1915-10G Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
