- Heat shock proteins play vital roles in protein folding and other forms of protein processing in several organelles. Under stress inducing conditions, production of many heat shock proteins increase dramatically in an attempt to protect or rescue cells from the effects of the stress inducing agent. Heat shock proteins are highly conserved in evolution and are present in essentially all living organisms. Individual heat shock proteins that share structural and functional properties may still vary considerably in their abilities to be induced by metabolic or temperature-induced stress. HSP-70 is the major stress inducible heat shock protein in mammalian cells. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 0.1-1.0ug/ml Western Blot: 0.5-1.0ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 2-5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
