Extra Details:: Heme oxygenase-1 was first purified from rat liver and porcine spleen and shown to have a molecular weight of 32kD. Increased expression of HO-1 can be induced by a large number of structurally unrelated pharmacological and other agents, as well as heat shock and other forms of cellular stress. Baseline levels of HO-1 expression are high in certain tissues, including spleen and liver, but enriched enzyme preparations are recommended for experimental analysis. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applicaitons have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000 (using ECL). A single band of ~32kD is observed. Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:1000 on human airway biopsy, human spleen, human kidney and porcine arteries. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
