- Guanylate Cyclase is an heterodimer of an alpha and a beta chain. Its enzymatic activity transforms GTP to GMP releasing a diphosphate. It binds 1 or 2 hemes per heterodimer. It is activated by nitric oxide in the presence of magnesium or manganese ions. There are two types of guanylate cyclase: soluble form and membrane-associated receptor form. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
