- Green fluorescent protein (GFP) is a 27kD protein which is derived from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria. GFP fluoresces green (509nm) when excited by blue light (395nm) and is commonly used as a marker of gene expression. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 1:10,000-1:30,000 Western Blot: 1:400-1:10,000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
