- The product of this gene belongs to a small family of adapter proteins that are known to interact with a number of receptor tyrosine kinases and signaling molecules. This gene encodes a growth factor receptor-binding protein that interacts with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and ephrin receptors. The protein plays a role in the integrin signaling pathway and cell migration by binding with focal adhesion kinase (FAK). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms, although the full-length natures of only two of the variants have been determined to date. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:32,000 Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml detects ~60kD band observed in lysates of cell line A431 (calculated MW of 59.7kD according to NP_005301.2). In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing GRB7 a band of approx. 60kD is observed. This band is not observed in the non-transfected HEK293. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
