- Extra Details:
- Plays a key role in retinoic acid metabolism. Acts on retinoids, including all-trans-retinoic acid (RA) and its stereoisomer 9-cis-RA. Capable of both 4-hydroxylation and 18-hydroxylation. Responsible for generation of several hydroxylated forms of RA, including 4-OH-RA, 4-oxo-RA and 18-OH-RA. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 1:64,000 Western Blot: 0.01-0.03ug/ml, observed in human brain, cerebellum and liver lysates on ~70kD bands. An additional band of unknown identity was also consistently observed at 26-28kD. This band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. Immunohistochemistry: 5ug/ml using paraffin embedded human testes Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
