Extra Details:
The 26kD GST (glutathione S-Transferase) domain, encoded by the parasite Schistosoma japonicum, is easily purified by affinity chromatography on immobilized glutathione. For this reason, numerous prokaryotic expression vectors have been developed allowing research to fuse recombinant protein purification. GST is utilized as a fusion protein in protein expression from a range of prokaryotic expression vectors, including the pGEX family of vectors. Antibodies against GST will detect the expressed GST protein or a GST-fusion protein, and can be utilized for immuno-purification of GST-fusion proteins. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. The antibody is suitable for detecting the expression level of GST in fusion proteins. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 0.05-0.2ug/ml Western Blot: 0.1-1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
