Extra Details:
Epitope tags are useful for thge labeling and detection of proteins using immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation and immunostaining techniques. Due to their small size, they are unlikely to affect the tagged protein’s biochemical properties. Glutathione S-transferase (GST) is a widely used protein fusion partner, since it provides both an easily detectable Tag and a simple purification process with little effect on the biological function of the protein of interest. Numerous vectors containing GST-Tag have been developed for both prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems over the past decade (1-3). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluorescence and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000, incubate membrane with diluted antibody in TBS, 5% nonfat dry milk, 0.1% Tween-20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight. Immunoprecipitation: 1:200 Immunocytochemistry (IC/IF): 1:800 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
