- Glutamate receptors are the major excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the central nervous system (CNS). They play critical roles in the mechanisms of synaptic plasticity and in the development of the nervous system. These receptors may be involved in the neuronal cell death that occurs in several neuropathological conditions. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Western Blot, ELISA, Immunocytochemistry and RIA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (50um 4% paraformaldehyde fixed tissue): 1:250-1:400 Immunocytochemistry: 4% paraformaldehyde fixed cells Optimal dilution to determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Cerebral cortex, pyramidal neurons Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
