- Extra Details:
- Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase is in the pentose phosphate pathway, a metabolic pathway that supplies reducing energy to cells (such as erythrocytes) by maintaining the level of the co-enzyme nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH), which maintains the level of glutathione in these cells that helps protect the red blood cells against oxidative damage. Cell growth and proliferation are affected by Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase. Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase inhibitors are under investigation to treat cancers and other conditions. DHEA is a Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase inhibitor. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA, Immunoperoxidase Electron Microscopy, Immunoelectrophoresis and Immunohistochemistry as well as other peroxidase-antibody based enzymatic assays. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:20,000-1:100,000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
