Extra Details:
Glicentin contains the glucagon sequence and is produced in a prominent population of endocrine cells in the distal intestine as well as in pancreatic glucagon cells and in the nerves in the brain. Serum levels of glicentin are elevated after food uptake and in certain clinical conditions, e.g. after resections of the intestine. The functional role of glicentin is largely unknown. Glicentin occurs in endocrine tumors arising in the distal intestine (rectal carcinoids) and in pancreatic islet cell tumors. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin): 1:2000-1:3000 (PAP). Immunofluorescence: 1:1000-1:1500 with overnight incubation at 2-8°C. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Formalin-fixed paraffin sections of porcine pancreas Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C.
