Extra Details:: Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP) is specific to astrocytes (i.e., glial cells) and ependymal cells of the central nervous system. Antibody to GFAP is useful in differentiating primary gliomas from metastatic lesions in the brain and for documenting astrocytic differentiation in tumors outside the CNS. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: IMR-5 cells, Brain or astrocytoma Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: PE conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
