- Extra Details:
- GAL4 protein is a transcriptional activator that is required for the expression of genes that encode enzymes of galactose utilization. The N-terminal domain of GAL4 binds to specific DNA sequences and the C-terminal domain contains acidic regions, which are required for activating transcription. GAL4 has been useful in two-hybrid assays for the study of protein-protein interactions. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence/Immunocytochemistry, Immunoprecipitation, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunofluorescence (IC): 1:50-1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
