- Follicle-Stimulating Hormone beta (FSH beta) is a 21kD component of the glycoprotein hormone FSH (Accession # NP_000501). It is secreted by the pituitary in noncovalent association with an alpha chain that is also a component of luteinizing hormone, thryoid stimulating hormone, and chorionic gonadotropin. FSH promotes ovarian follicle maturation and spermatogenesis through interactions with FSH R. Human FSH beta shares approximately 90% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat FSH beta. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 2ug/ml using human pituitary tissue Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
