- Raised against a peptide (DINYQDQIPRTLEE) corresponding to amino acids 609 to 622 of human F1Aa. This sequence is identical to the corresponding sequence of mouse FEM1b.

- Extra Details:
- Fas and tumor necrosis factor receptor 1 (TNFR1) are two prototype members in the death receptor family. A novel protein that associates with the intracellular domains of Fas and TNFR1 was recently identified and designated F1Aa and FEM1b (1,2). F1Aa/FEM1b is the homologue of C. elegans sex determining protein FEM-1 (1,2). FEM-1/F1Aa is cleaved by CED-3 and caspase (3). FEM-1/F1Aa associates with CED-4 and its mammalian homologue Apaf-1 (3). Overexpression of F1Aa induces apoptosis. F1Aa is therefore a novel member of the death receptor associated protein that mediates apoptosis. F1Aa is expressed in a variety of human and mouse tissues (1,2). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blotting: 0.5-1ug/ml. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Mouse liver tissue Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
