- Extra Details:
- Erythropoietin, normally produced in the kidney and liver, is the principal hormone involved in the regulation of erythrocyte differentiation and the maintenance of a physiological level of circulating erythrocyte mass. EPO is indicated for treatment of neutropenia or anemia secondary to ZDV- or Ganciclovir-induced bone marrow suppression (most effective in patients with endogenous EPO levels < 500IU/ml). Applications: Suitable for use in Direct ELISA, Western Blot, Neutralization and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1ug/ml Recombinant human Erythropoietin. Neutralization: Measured by its the ability to neutralize Eythropoietin-induced proliferation in the TF-1 human erythroleukemic cell line (1). The ND50 is typically <3ug/ml in the presence of 0.2units/ml of recombinant human Erthyropoietin (tissue culture grade). Immunohistochemistry: 5-15ug/ml for immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human kidney tissue. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
