Extra Details:
Ep-CAM (also described as 17-1A antigen or EPG34). This antigen is widely expressed on cells of epithelial origin and tumors derived therefrom. This clone represents an excellent marker to discriminate epithelial from mesothelial structures. The antigen has been detected in all carcinoma types tested (18 different origins). A subset of squamous cell carcinoma is negative. Polypeptide reacting Mr 40,000 human epithelium-specific cell surface glycoprotein (Ep-CAM). Reactivities on Cultured All carcinoma cell lines tested so far; particularly strong reaction. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence microscopy, Immunohistochemistry. Suitable for frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue, cell sorting, cytological material. Pretreatment With paraffin embedded sections, protease pretreatment is required prior to antibody application. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 1:10 with PBS, pH 7.4; Incubation Time 1 h at RT; extended with paraffin. Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
